The Ultimate Inevitability

It may be difficult but when one takes out the time from their lives to regain some lost perspective. It is possible that they come to realise the superficiality and the materialism in the world today. As humans we are creatures of habit, as our parents have observed their forefathers, they also imparted to us this knowledge about what is being "successful" or "rich" etc. We all know the publicised traits and the respective benefits.

This associated aspects and features, highlighted, are also true. If one thinks like that and has been chasing a so called "goal", it is not necessarily a bad thing. It is just the way life on this planet has turned out to be. The analogy is that of a ball rolling down a hill, the faster it goes the faster it will go. Acceleration. Where, once, work was a means to an end. The thing that is driving the work culture now is acceleration i.e: we want/need to do more or are asked to do more of what we are doing already. The driving force is mostly greed by the big bosses. Anyway greed may not exist in everyone but in most cases it does exist at the top and so the effects of it do trickle down and whether we like it or not we become a cog in the giant greed machinery without even realising.

The fact is, everything is just a distraction. Greed, Lust etc. It means absolutely nothing. Where I am, I occasionally spot a family of deer grazing out in the wild. The family probably lives in the vicinity and chills about around the area. Sometimes grazing here and at other times elsewhere. There is one mama deer and 2 baby deer. I observe them when they come. Of course the grass is better during summer time but this does not seem to affect them. The unit is happily scavenging for whatever greens they can find and once they are done they move on. The baby deer eagerly follow mum, and hop about happily.

The above is just an example to show that if we can distract ourselves from the distractions, then we might come to realise that the only substantial and meaningful thing in this life is relationships. One's relationship to their family and their God. Rest, all of it, is just a temporary distraction. Some people get lost in the race/chase to achieve these superficial goals. Fortune, career,They put these goals on top of everything else. This statement is not meant as some sort of a judgement but is just to highlight a certain fact and that is that in the race to achieve these superficial and temporary goals, many people lose sight of what is actually important. Loving your family and spending your life fully focused on their comfort and loving your God. That is it. That is the only concrete thing one is going to take to their grave. The only substantial achievement that they can claim in the afterlife. The inevitability of life holds true and the same for everyone. A billionaire and a hawker (who is not a billionaire) will both end their lives six feet under. No difference. Sure a billionaire might have a marbled grave in an enclosure of sorts, but that is just a classic example of the materialism in our world. Because in the real world; the one that is six feet under, there exists absolutely no difference. The soil that will consume one is the same soil that will consume the other.

So take a breather to enjoy your relationships and constantly remind yourself; why you are working your bottoms off in the first place. Just so that you do not lose sight of the actual valuable things in life and take out the time for them.
